Our Team

Every employee here at Midwest has a background in care and is personally committed to providing the level of care to our clients that they would expect for their own loved ones. We hold each other to a very high standard when it comes to caring for our clients and their families and the result is care that goes beyond safety and security to a relationship based on mutual respect and trust. Being a part of this team is an enormous responsibility and truly rewarding experience.

Rob01Robert Weink, Founder I was born and raised in southern California by parents originally from Wisconsin. At a young age I first learned how to care for older adults by visiting with them at a nearby hospital where my mother worked as a registered nurse and community educator. Later, I began working in the field of physical rehabilitation at one of the first nationally accredited rehabilitation facilities. After beginning my work in the field of physical therapy, I recognized my passion for encouraging and caring for older adults. In 1990, after my parents had returned to Wisconsin to retire, I made a decision to also move so I could care for my parents as they progressed through their retirement years. Shortly after moving to the Midwest, I was introduced to a family here in Madison whose father was living with Parkinson’s disease. This family supported their father’s decision to continue living in his own home. Not only did I have the privilege to care for this gentleman, but I asked for the responsibility of recruiting honest and trustworthy caregivers to help with providing care. After 3 years of coordinating in-home care and working as a pseudo-family member for this gentleman with Parkinson’s disease, his family had suggested that I do the same for other older adults who would like to continue living at home. This was the impetus for Midwest Home Care, a private family-focused company that I helped to start in 1996. I believe my greatest professional success has been bringing together like-minded caregivers to share their talents and enhancing the quality of life for older adults. I believe professional caregiving should be a demonstration of kindness and compassion that parallels the love of family.

lynn edited web sizeLynn Cooper, Social Worker – Director of Care I have a desire to improve the lives of seniors and their families in this community. Through a very personal experience within my own family, my eyes have been opened to the often times confusing world of aging at home. This has stirred a passion for senior transition care, and increased my sensitivity to the issues seniors and their families’ experience as their needs increase. The transition to senior care is a natural choice for me. My 25 year background as a Program Director, Child & Family Social Worker and a Certified Trauma Specialist enabled me to serve the community and assist families and individuals in transition in community based settings.
As a Madison native I have experience with integrating and actively assisting families with transitions within senior networks and the community. I have also participated on numerous boards and committees and the local, state and federal level.

lindsey web sizeLindsey Schultz, Administrative Services Manager Joining the Midwest Home Care team has truly been a blessing for me. I am excited to work alongside a group of individuals who continually strive to bring a peace of mind to families who are faced with new challenges in caring for family members. I was very fortunate to come from a large, loving family who saw the need to care for each other and went above and beyond to keep their loved one’s comfortably at home. After realizing what a challenge it can be, I found a connection here with Midwest Home Care who encompasses the compassion and the values that I believe in and would want for others in a similar life transition. Working in an administrative environment since a young age, I experienced both corporate and private structure and brought my knowledge along to MHC with the hope of blending a strong business sense with compassion for employees to provide a more family-like working environment to all who work for MHC.  Midwest Home Care allows me the opportunity to embrace that desire and provide the kind of “leadership through kindness” that I, myself, desired to have when working for a company. I truly look forward to the strong future that is ahead for Midwest Home Care.
